August 27, 2015 This Is What A Child Taught Me
“When I became a Big Sister, I thought I would be teaching her everything. I was wrong. Mya has taught me to ‘Let go.’ Being an obsessive artist, perfection has been my biggest obstacle. She has taught me to have no expectation of the outcome, and just enjoy the present moment of creatively. It’s ok if the eyes on a painting are not exactly the same or a line isn’t straight. Now I know how to embrace imperfections, and the unevenness of life. As a result, some of my best work has blossomed from this new way of thinking.”
